Is laser pigmentation removal permanent?

Laser treatments are designed to permanently eliminate the pigmentation on your face. Please be aware that are you have received treatment; you may then experience more sun damage, which can then result in more pigmentation. For this reason, it is crucial that you always use sunscreen and care for your skin well.

How many laser treatments are required for pigmentation removal?

This depends on a case-by-case basis. In general, a minimum of 2-3 sessions to achieve maximum results is recommended, and your initial appointment will cover this.

What is the wait time between laser therapy sessions?

4-6 weeks is the usual wait between laser therapy treatments. This downtime enables your skin to recover between sessions.

Does Picoway laser treatment hurt?

While everyone’s tolerance varies, the majority of patients report only mild discomfort and that the Picoway laser is a painless experience. Our team will be mindful of your maximising your comfort throughout your treatment. The sensation is similar to a rubber band snapping on the skin. If you’re very sensitive in general, a topical numbing cream is available.

Does PicoWay Resolve Require Several Treatment Sessions?

To address a specific skin condition such as hyperpigmentation or acne scars, a series of treatments is needed. The number of treatments will always depend on your skin’s condition, but the bulk of patients have approximately 3-4 treatments.

Are There Any Side Effects to a PicoWay® Resolve™ Treatment?

Some patients experience short-term effects such as redness for about 24 hours. Pigmented areas may also appear darker or lighter for the first week, but then return to your normal pigmentation colour. Darker spots peeling or flaking off the treatment site is a normal part of the process.

Pigments from iron

Did you know iron infusions can lead to skin staining? Skin discolouration is a rare side effect of intravenous iron infusions and develops at a rate of roughly 1.6%

Iron insufficiency can also cause melasma–a chronic gained localized hyper melanosis. This is a serious aesthetic obstacle for women. Evidence indicates that iron and b12 deficiencies will lead to hyperpigmentation
