Does PicoWay laser scar?
All PicoWay laser treatments use a picosecond laser with high power and ultra-short pulses. A picosecond is a trillionth of a second, rather than a photothermal (or heat) approach that heats the skin and can lead to side effects, such as downtime and scarring.
Can we eliminate scar tissue?

How soon can I get rid of a scar?
Post-surgical scars can be treated as soon as the stitches are removed, or the scar has fully healed over. Scarring from acne can be treated once blemishes are under control.
Does it matter how old my scars are?
No matter how long you’ve had the scar, our laser treatment will reduce the appearance. Some scars may require more or less treatments.
What are the side effects of laser scar removal?
A temporary change in your pigment may occur post-treatment, but this will diminish. The skin may appear, and itchy after your session, but a cold compress, will reduce side effects.
Will getting my scars removed hurt?
Unlikely. This treatment is non-invasive and pain-free. Slight discomfort may occur in extra sensitive skin; however, topical numbing cream is available. We can also pre-test your skin to see how you will react.
Does PicoWay Resolve Require Several Treatment Sessions?
To address a specific skin condition such as hyperpigmentation or acne scars, a series of treatments is needed. The number of treatments will always depend on your skin’s condition, but the bulk of patients have approximately 3-4 treatments.
How does this treatment work on acne?
Acne develops when the pores become clogged with oil, dead skin, or bacteria. Acute acne is known as ‘cystic acne and does not respond to over-the-counter products. Chemical peels and dermabrasion are not as effective as Picoway laser for acne. The results become apparent alcoholic drinks might help or reduce the time spent in the sun and hot showers.
How is the PicoWay Resolve Laser Different from Alternative Skin Rejuvenation Devices?
The PicoWay Resolve Laser is not as aggressive as the DOT laser. In addition, the DOT laser requires one week of downtime. Patients can accomplish very similar results with PicoWay Resolve by scheduling a series of treatments.

Always brief us if you have a medical condition. Also always disclose the medications you take. Recently tanned skin cannot be treated. Avoid exposure to sunlight, tanning booths, and self-tanning skin care products for 2 weeks prior to your appointment and during the complete treatment period.
