Powder brows, also called mist brows or soft shading, use a fine digital machine to place tiny dots of pigment into the upper layer of the skin. Built up gently, layer by layer, the dots create a soft, even, shaded finish, like brow powder or a light pencil, rather than individual hair strokes.
Because the pigment sits as fine shading rather than lines, powder brows suit oily and combination skin, where hair strokes can blur, and they generally hold their colour longer than microblading.

Eyebrow tattooing typically lasts between 1 and 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and sun exposure. Powder and ombré brows generally hold their colour longer than hair-stroke techniques. We recommend a touch-up every 12–18 months to keep your brows fresh.
Both use soft machine shading rather than hair strokes. Powder brows have an even, soft fill through the whole brow, like a light dusting of brow powder. Ombré brows are lighter at the front and gradually deeper through the tail, for a more defined, made-up gradient. We’ll help you choose the right look at your consultation.
Microblading creates fine hair strokes and suits dry to normal skin with good natural brow hair. Powder brows create soft shading, suit almost every skin type including oily skin, and usually last longer. If you love the look of brow powder or pencil, powder brows are often the better choice. If you want strokes and shading together, ask us about Combination Brows.
Yes. Because powder brows are built from fine shading rather than crisp lines, they heal well on oily, combination and larger-pored skin, where hair strokes can blur. They’re one of the techniques we most often recommend for oily skin.
Your brows will look darker and bolder for the first week or so. This is normal. As the skin heals, the colour softens noticeably. We design your shape and colour with healing in mind, and follow our Baby Steps Method, so you can always add more at your perfecting session.
Most clients describe it as mild discomfort rather than pain. We always apply numbing cream before and during your procedure, and your artist checks in with you throughout.
Often, yes. Old tattoos that have turned grey, blue or red can usually be colour corrected with the right pigments first. If the old pigment is too dark or deep to correct, we may recommend PicoWay laser fading sessions, which we offer in-house, before new shading is added.
