Eyebrow Tattooing Melbourne

Eyebrow tattooing is one of the most transformative cosmetic procedures available — and at CTM in St Kilda, it is our speciality. Whether you have sparse brows, over-plucked arches, patchy growth, or simply want to wake up every morning with perfectly shaped brows, we have a technique tailored to you.

Say goodbye to daily pencil application, tinting appointments, and the frustration of trying to draw symmetrical brows from scratch. Our expertly applied brow tattoos create a natural guide that works with your existing hair, saving you time and giving you lasting confidence.

Eyebrow tattoos are also a fantastic way to achieve the “open eye” effect subtly lifting the appearance of the face for a refreshed, more youthful look without any surgery.

At CTM, we work with your natural brow shape and hair growth rather than against it. Eyebrows are naturally asymmetrical, and we believe in honouring that creating balance and symmetry without stripping away what you already have. Waxing away or tattooing far beyond your natural growth can compromise a good brow base, so our approach is always precise, considered, and tailored to your face.

Feather Touch Eyebrows

Eyebrow tattooing is ideal for women who like a more defined look or filled in brow. Those who are used to applying pencil, can do any activity without the embarrassment of losing their brows.

This non- invasive, innovated procedure will instantly take years off, and save hours of frustration trying to draw your own eyebrows. You will no longer need to tint, wax, thread as your tattoo is a guide for where to pluck.

Eyebrow tattoos are a fantastic way of achieving the ‘open eye’ effect, which creates the appearance of a facelift.

For creating the perfect brow, CTM works with your natural brow shape to create a subtle and natural look. Eyebrows are naturally asymmetrical, but we want to compromise with your natural growth, without losing too much hair. Waxing off or completely tattooing so far out of the natural growth can devastate someone that has a good brow base.

We offer multiple styles. We will help you decide on the day based on your natural brow.

Feather-touch–Micro-blading is a technique whereby fine strokes penetrate the skin to create a natural hair-like finish.

Powder Brow is a soft and natural look that suit most clients. Although most clients are into the idea of the feather stroke, a soft and shaded powder brow looks amazing on all. Great for girls wanting a more defined brow to highlight their eyes more.

Ombre Brows have been a huge trend in makeup and tattooing. We create a softer shaded tattoo at the bridge of the nose, continuing on with a bolder brow for definition.

Corrections can fix that discoloured pigment or unwanted shape that is not perfectly symmetrical. Therefore, you always want to do your research before going to a cheap or unqualified tattooist. If we cannot rectify the previous tattoo, fading sessions are available to help ease the pigment base.

Too many options? Book in or call us for a consultation.

* No plucking, waxing or shaving of the hair will be required before your procedure. We will simulate your preferred brow shape, then remove any unwanted hair with your permission that is not within the design of the tattoo.

* Cosmetic Tattoo can be a fantastic investment in saving money elsewhere, as most clients find that ongoing tinting, waxing or threading is not needed as your tattoo will act as a guide for where to pluck.

CTM guarantees satisfaction with the “Baby Steps Method” technique. Rather than rushing into having overly thick eyebrows. This method ensures that there is no room for error. It’s always easier to add to your tattoo rather than having to remove it later.

Our Brow Techniques

We offer a range of eyebrow tattooing styles to suit different skin types, preferences, and lifestyles. During your appointment, we will assess your natural brow, skin type, and desired outcome and recommend the best technique  or combination of techniques for you.

Nano Strokes Eyebrow Tattooing

Nano strokes is one of the most advanced and natural-looking eyebrow tattooing techniques available today. Using a state-of-the-art digital machine fitted with an ultra-fine single nano needle, each stroke is implanted with exceptional precision to mimic the look of a real eyebrow hair.

Unlike microblading, which uses a manual blade, nano strokes are created by a machine giving the artist far greater control over depth, pressure, and consistency. This results in finer, crisper strokes that tend to heal more predictably and last longer, particularly on oily or combination skin types.

Nano strokes are ideal for clients who want an incredibly natural, hair-like finish whether filling in gaps, defining sparse brows, or creating a full brow from scratch. The technique can also be combined with nano shading for added depth and dimension.

Powder Brow / Mist Brows

Powder brows also known as mist brows deliver a soft, filled-in finish that looks like perfectly applied brow powder or a light pencil. Rather than individual hair strokes, this technique uses tiny, gentle pixels to create an even, shaded effect across the brow.

The result is a polished, defined brow that photographs beautifully and suits virtually every skin type including oily skin, which can be more challenging for hair-stroke techniques. Powder brows also tend to last longer than microblading on oily or larger-pored skin, making them an excellent long-term investment.

Powder brows are ideal for clients who love a more groomed, “done” look or those who are used to filling in their brows with makeup daily and want that result permanently. They also create a lovely “open eye” effect, giving the face a naturally lifted, bright appearance.

Ombre Brow

Ombre Brows

Ombre brows combine the best of both worlds — a softer, lighter shade at the front of the brow near the nose bridge that gradually builds to a richer, more defined colour toward the tail. This creates a beautiful gradient effect that mimics the way most people naturally fill in their brows with makeup.

The ombré technique is incredibly flattering, suits all skin types, and gives a result that looks polished without being heavy. It is particularly popular with clients who want definition and drama without a hard, uniform brow.

Feather Touch Microblading

Feather Touch Microblading

Microblading is a manual technique using a fine hand tool with a blade composed of multiple micro needles to create hair-like strokes in the skin. It is best suited to clients with dry to normal skin types and good natural brow hair, as the strokes can appear softer and more diffused on oily or mature skin.

Microblading is ideal for clients who want a very natural, understated result filling in gaps and enhancing what is already there without adding dramatic colour or shape. It requires a relatively confident hand, and results vary significantly depending on the skill and experience of the artist.

At CTM, our microblading is performed with exceptional care and precision and if we feel another technique would serve your skin type or brow goals better, we will always say so honestly.

Colour Corrections

Had a previous brow tattoo elsewhere that has turned grey, blue, or red over time? You are not alone and we can help.

Brow pigment discolouration is one of the most common issues we see at CTM, often the result of poor-quality pigments, incorrect depth, or inexperienced application. Here is what we can do:

  • Grey Brows: can often be neutralised by working warm-toned pigments containing orange, red, or turmeric undertones back into the brow to counteract the cool cast and restore a natural brown tone.
  • Blue or blue-grey brows: typically indicate that a very dark or black pigment was implanted too deeply into the dermis. Correction options include neutralising with red-based pigments, or where the pigment is too deep or saturated to correct a course of PicoWay laser fading sessions to lighten the existing tattoo before fresh pigment is applied.
  • Red or orange brows: occur when warm-toned pigments have dominated as the tattoo aged. These can be neutralised using cool-toned corrector pigments to bring the brow back to a balanced brown.Corrections are always assessed individually. If we believe the existing tattoo requires fading before correction work can begin, we will recommend PicoWay laser sessions first a service we also offer in-house at CTM.Always do your research before choosing a brow artist. The cost of correction work and the emotional toll is always far greater than the cost of choosing an experienced artist the first time.

The CTM Baby Steps Method

At CTM, we guarantee satisfaction through our Baby Steps Method. Rather than rushing to create the boldest, fullest brow in one session, we take a measured, considered approach building the result gradually so there is no room for error. It is always easier to add to a tattoo than to remove it, and this philosophy ensures every client leaves happy with a result they can grow into confidently.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Nano Strokes and Microblading?

Both techniques create realistic hair-like strokes, but the tools and results differ significantly.

Nano strokes use a digital machine with a single nano needle, giving the artist precise control over depth and pressure. This makes it suitable for a wider range of skin types including oily skin and generally produces finer, longer-lasting strokes. Nano shading can also be incorporated for added dimension.

Microblading uses a manual hand tool with a multi-needle blade. It relies entirely on the artist’s manual skill for consistency, and can be less predictable on oily, mature, or sun-damaged skin. It is best suited to dry skin types with good natural brow hair.

How long does eyebrow tattooing last?

Results typically last between 1 and 3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and the technique used. Powder and ombré brows generally retain colour longer than hair-stroke techniques. A touch-up appointment is recommended every 12–18 months to maintain vibrancy and shape.

Is it painful?

We offer an extensive spectrum of colours to suit every client’s requirements, from soft natural pigments to more dramatic options.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Can I have an allergic reaction?

If you have a known history of allergy to nickel, hair dye, or latex, we recommend a patch test prior to your appointment to confirm suitability.

What is the difference between cosmetic tattooing and traditional body tattooing?

Both involve implanting pigment into the skin, but the technique, depth, and tools differ significantly. In body tattooing, pigment is deposited into the deeper subcutaneous layer of the skin using a powerful coil machine. Cosmetic tattooing implants pigment into the upper dermal layer using a gentler, more refined digital device creating a soft, natural result designed to complement the face rather than make a permanent statement.
